Thigh Lift

A thigh lift is designed to tighten and reshape sagging or loose skin around the thighs, and can also help reduce excess fat and bulging. In addition, dramatic weight loss can often be the cause of extensive redundancy of skin in the inner-thigh area, leaving skin that is flabby and dimpled in appearance. A thigh lift removes this loose skin, creating a tighter and more attractive thigh.

The incisions for an inner thigh lift vary, depending on the amount of loose skin present, as well as how far the laxity extends down the thigh. When laxity is less severe, the incisions may be limited to the groin crease or the upper part of the inner thigh where they are hidden. When the laxity is severe, the incisions may need to extend from the groin to the knee. Thigh lifts are often combined with liposuction to improve the shape and skin contour.

In general, good candidates for liposuction include younger patients, and patients with thick, elastic skin and a lower body fat percentage. Patients with thin, inelastic skin and a higher body fat percentage will generally have less dramatic changes and may not be ideal candidates for this procedure.

This is an outpatient procedure done under general anesthesia but it may require an overnight stay when combined with other procedures. Recovery depends on the extent of your procedure. Light activity can be done the day after surgery and a return to normal activities may take 2-3 weeks. Results can be long-term, but as per some of the other liposuction procedures weight loss/gain or natural aging may alter your appearance.
