Step by Step Guide For Out of Town Patients
You can view the Step by Step guide in further detail here.
Fill in our online enquiry or contact our offices to let us know the procedure in which you are interested. Be sure to let our staff know that you are an out-of-town patient.
You will receive an email with an online fillable form and details of the specific photos that Dr Dower will need to assess prior to consultation. This should be emailed back, along with more information about your desired outcome and aesthetic goals.
Once we have received the consultation fee, our staff will contact you to schedule a teleconference between you and Dr Dower.
After the consultation, you will receive a written summary regarding the main points of discussion between you and Dr Dower, along with his individualized recommendations and a pro forma for the proposed surgery.
Once you feel satisfied that all your questions have been answered and that you would like to proceed with surgery, a deposit can be made to secure a date for the procedure. At this point, you may want to explore the additional service packages we have available, including a transfer package, local accommodation bookings, and rejuvenation holidays.
You will receive our welcome information package, which includes pre- and post-operative instructions, a copy of the consent form (which Dr Dower will go through with you personally on the day of surgery) and your itinerary (which will include all your appointment details). If you have chosen to include a rejuvenation holiday, this detailed itinerary will be sent once final arrangements have been made.
The remaining payment for surgery should reflect in the practice account a minimum of 2 weeks before the scheduled procedure.
Your pre-operative appointment will usually take place the day following your arrival in Cape Town, once you’ve had a chance to settle in and acclimate.
It is important to know that neither you nor Dr Dower is obliged to go ahead with the surgical procedure until this thorough assessment has been done and if, for whatever reason, either you or he is uncomfortable with proceeding, the cost of the surgery will be refunded. Please note that there is a very important emphasis on you as the client. Providing Dr Dower with a good understanding of your expectations, your correct medical information, and accurate photographs can help avoid this possibility from occurring.
On the day of surgery, you will be admitted to the hospital. Dr Dower will go through the consent form with you and you will meet your specialist Anaesthetist. Dr Dower will visit you again prior to your discharge if you have been booked as a day-case or in the hospital if you are staying over. On the evening of discharge, Dr Dower will call you to see how you are doing.
Depending on your procedure, you will have follow-up appointments scheduled as per your itinerary. Dr Dower will continue to follow up on your progress remotely once you have returned home.
